The earth without the sun

The sun has become important for life on earth. We know that it will always be there. Even if it disappears in the evening it will come back the next morning. We know that! We can trust the sun. Sometimes the clouds is hiding the sun but we know that the sun has not gone away. It is on the other side and waiting for the clouds to go away. Otherwise it should be black dark. The clouds let some light pass through so we can still see. But the sun give us so much more. It give us life. Without the sunlight no plants can live. If no plants can live no animals can live. Human can't eat stone or some plastic oil that we have manage to make. We will also die if the sun goes away.

And then the sun goes away
But think if the sun goes away. One night it goes down but the next morning it didn't come back. What would we do? When the sun goes away it will be black dark. Even more dark than in the middle of the night. We have to live in darkness for the rest of our lives. Many people would probably go to work that day even if it was a bit strange. The medias would take the opportunity and write a lot about it. There will be no structure to handle the problem. We are not prepared to lose the sun. We have not plans on what to do in that situation. The governments would have to take much responsibility. They would ask the researcher what happened. They will found out quite fast that the sun has gone away. We have a lot of satellites and equipment so it will not be hard to see that the sun is not there. The governments around the world would probably understand that this is a serious problem and go together and talk. FN, EU and all the big leaders from the big countries would meet to discuss. They have a lot to think of. No food will come from plants and then we can't feed animals so we can't get any food at all. I don't see how they can find a solution to that problem. All researchers have to try to find the solution or at least something that can help. Mushrooms could be one kind of food that can be possible to grow with no light. We can have light from the lamps but we need that energy for many things now. We have not even mention the biggest problem of them all. When the sun is gone the earth will be cold. Very cold. All water on earth will become ice and there we will all die. Even the squirrels.

Sun goes away very slowly
If the sun take it a bit slower and goes away with a quite low speed so it will take millions of years before it's gone. Then it will be more easy to survive. Of course because we can stay on earth a long time and human will probably destroy the world before we die because of no sun but it will be a better chance. The evolution will make all living animals and plants to handle colder climate. The problem we have today with greenhouse gases would not be a problem anymore, it would only be positive. But life will not be as rich on a cold planet so at some point we can't stay there anymore. We have to follow the sun. We could build space stations so we can circulate around the sun. they could be very big so we can grow our food and all kind of needs. It might be possible. We have the time to develop this kind of technique so it might be good enough. But one thing is for sure. We can't stay on earth without the sun!

Will the sun actually disappear?
We can't know if our sun will disappear one day but there is no evidence that say so. If a very big asteroid comes and hit the sun it could happen things but it will probably result in that the sun explodes. If the asteroid is too small it will probably not happen much. The sun will stay. With such small risk that the sun will disappear we can sleep calm. But don't forget to thank the sun for what it gives to us and our planet of life and if there is one true god it is the sun!
