Free webhosting

Have you ever dreamed of having your own web site? Can't afford to buy server space? In that case you should read this.

There is a lot of free hosts out there and it's not easy to find the good ones. Many of them force you to show advertising on your site. That's not very fun. If you have done a nice site you don't want to disturb that feeling with advertising that you don't even will earn anything from. Many of them offer little web space to store your site. A very common restriction is that you are not allowed to upload files that are bigger than a certain amount of kb. The uptime is often very bad witch means that the server will not respond very often. The result is that you can't see your site as often as acceptable. Not all of them offer script languages like PHP. Databases if available often limited.

You maybe think that you will not need all this because your site is so small or you don't really care. It's fine with me but I believe that you will be annoyed if you chose the wrong free web host. Even if they look good from outside you will never know before you have tried them. At least read the rules carefully before register.

Two good free web hosts
I Should give you two serious free web hosts. The only thing that they ask for is that you post in their forums regular. They earn the money from advertising on those forums and not from your site.

Frihost
The best free host on on the web. You will get 250 Mb to store your files. 10 GB bandwidth each month. They have both PHP and Perl. I don't know how many people using Perl but it can be useful if you can handle it. They have DirectAdmin that let you upload files and other useful features. You can have as many MySQL databases as you want. Read more on their homepage. When you register you will have to make 5 quality posts before requesting for a host account. Make sure this is quality posts and not short or spam posts. After you got your hosting account you will not need to post very much. A few posts per month depending on the length of them. The forum is very good and well-managed. You will not regret that you chose Frihost!

KwiX Host
This one is also good. You have to post some more posts here every month than with Frihost to keep your hosting account. They are also more strict if you do not post the amount one month. But an advantage is that they offer four different package so you can get 100 Mb and 2 GB Bandwidth for 7 posts per month and with the Advanced package you will get 1.25 GB and 30 GB Bandwidth for 20 posts per month. They also require some post before sign up. Otherwise they also support PHP, Perl and Ruby.

Which you chose is up to you. Both is reliable. If you don't need more than 250 Mb for your site I would recommend Frihost. They are better in many ways. The forum posting is not hard to do because of the good forum. If you need more web space KwiX Host could be a better choice.
